NOTARISATION AND LEGALISATION OF ACADEMIC DOCUMENTS

Bulletin 6 – Published 2022

Most commonly we are requested to notarise a COPY of the academic documentation. In very view instances we are required to notarise ORIGINAL documents. If we are so requested, be aware that the notarial seal will be impressed on the ORIGINAL and will be clearly visible. Some would say that this defaces the ORIGINAL because it is meant to be kept in pristine/untouched condition.

So you must be very clear in your instructions to us as to whether you want us to notarise an ORIGINAL academic document or a COPY of it. Also, you need to advise us which country the notarised academic document will be going to.  Check with the people or the authority who will be receiving the notarised academic document as to what will be acceptable.

Whether you require an ORIGINAL or a COPY to be notarised, the ORIGINAL needs to be sent to this office at:

OFFICE OF JOHN PEARCE SOLICITOR & NOTARY PUBLIC
